Young Adult

Earia, queen of the elves, has long fought against an enemy she believed she created: a man, Niren, who she raised as her son, over four hundred years ago and he will see every man, elf, and dwarf killed unless they bend a knee to him. The dragons already have, willing or not, and Earia is forced to fight them as well as Niren’s soldiers.

Fillip is a seventeen year old, raised in the woods and seashores of the small country of Niss, and he has managed to find the one thing which can give the elves hope against Niren and his dragons.

Pursued by assassins, Earia is desperate for Fillip’s help and he is aching for adventure, even danger. Fillip’s younger brother is not so inclined, but what is a brother for, if not to help chase monsters and throw down kings?

Earia’s age old companions are quick to accept the youngsters and teach them a thing or two. Fillip soon discovers that he is not the farmer he thought, but a bold adventurer, willing to take mighty risks to see the world and to fight for his new friends.

5 Ways to Know You’re Really a Writer

This is a post I felt personified the very essence of being a writer and how it is perceived from the inside.

A Writer's Path

Typewriter Old

So, the other day, I arrived bright and early for the morning shift at my job. One coworker remarked that I looked too bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for somebody who was going to work at 6 am. I explained to her that I woke up at 4 in order to write a little before I came in, since I prefer writing in the morning. Cue the dumbfounded stare.

Creating Empires

No One-Idea-Brain

I post endlessly about the adventures of publishing the Stones of Caron series, but there isn’t just one idea in this brain. While Stones offers me many outlets to explore because of the many characters introduced, it is still just one world.

This newest category, Creating Empires, is my place to show you what else goes on in this author’s warped, twisted, lightning-fast, brilliantly clever mind. What can I say? I’m a genius with a taste for convoluted plots.

My next project will eventually be a series. Now I like detail and I love painting the world around the characters. Fantasy has got to be my favorite genre. It takes details about life and puts them into a setting you could never see coming. Having magic and monsters opens the door for terror like you’ve never known.

The Next Installment

Dragon RAG Teaser copy 03

Here’s a teaser for Book 2 of the Stones of Caron, series. This installment is Following Danger’s Path.

It is an action-adventure, epic, fantasy about a group of elves trying to salvage their kingdom. They have to fight dragons, wolves, goblins, trolls, and bears to get just about anywhere and there’s always somebody dredging up more trouble.

It is Young Adult but I know that means very little in the reading world. It is my second publication and I am thrilled to bring it to majority. It should be released on Amazon, Kindle, and Createspace near the end of August or the very beginning of September.

Since I’m a September baby this should make for a very nice Birthday present.

Untold Stories

Here is a story I wrote a while back. It is a short story. A prequel to Book 1 of the Stones of Caron. Which is my first publication, (not to stand alone very soon.)

Its concerning one of my favorite subjects, dragons. The fearsome ocean dragon that has attacked the country of Arvad is a beast to remember, but more memorable than he are the men who hunted him.

Exercising skills:

Sometimes disaster happens. Sometimes the first people on scene are locals. Sometimes locals gather together into volunteer associations. Sometimes those associations call themselves Fire Fighters. After they become an association they get to go out on incidents with or to the aid of state and federal resources. Sometimes the state and federal resources provide us with learning opportunities so that when a fire, medical emergency, or natural disaster occurs, we get to take charge instead of being a background setting.
